“I went for a little walk with my dog in town. Together we welcomed the end of summer by playing with the acorns. He’d chase them after I kicked them back and forth. Luckily, he totally loved it and kept running back for new ones to play with. Since I was in need of a creative retake for one of my missions, I decided this acorn-dot would get me that golden medal.. Although my dog might deserve it as much as I do.” (Evie from Nijmegen, the Netherlands)

“Currently, my mum’s revalidating from a knee replacement. Pretty intense and painful, so I jumped in the car to pay her a visit. The revalidation center is in Vlissingen, close to the Dutch coast. We spent the evening chatting and laughing. Hours passed without her thinking of her injury. At least, that’s what I hope to have achieved. It turned out to be pretty late. On the drive back home, I stared at my dashboard suddenly noticing how the orange-lined circles looked futuristic on the pitch-black dashboard. Since I was assigned to take photos of circles with a certain distance in between, I took the risk of taking this one while driving. Don’t try this at home, kids.” (Don from Den Bosch, The Netherlands)

“I seize every moment to spot circles and squares, now. Whether I’m on a desolated beach or surrounded by my younger cousins in De Efteling, a Dutch amusement park. On the photo, you see the beaches of Hoek van Holland. I love going there to surf. But now going there has turned into more than a surfing exercise. For me, the game is not just about finding shapes anymore. I now challenge myself to fit the complete context in the photo, too. Here, you see both the beach and the blue sky – that way I also capture the atmosphere. In this case, a surf vibe.” (Irene from Rotterdam, The Netherlands)

“At some point I thought it’d be nice not to spot objects of a circular shape, but rather look for circular holes or openings. So on my way to a friend, I asked my friend Michelle to hold the flowers like this, so it looks like a blossoming bubble!” (Wilco from the Netherlands)

“I’m a bookkeeper at a grocery store. There, I find myself surrounded by coin rolls* every day.” (Megan from South Old Bridge, New Jersey) *Those dollar dots you see are quarter rolls, this is how banks distribute coins to shops and other places, where change is needed.
